texte = What's wrong with the permissions in LINUX that always breaks my sites every time I upload a new webdna file? My hosting service claims that: "If you are constantly uploading files you will need to repermission. If WebCat creates the files then they don't need to be repermissioned. Linux is a stickler for permissions. It just comes with the territory." What's the story about this? Does my hosting guy know what he is talking about, or is this just an excuse because he doesn't have the server configured properly? Or now that my sites have been force-moved from OSX to linux is there something I need to do differently when I upload to LINUX? I cannot imagine that linux would be as popular as it is if every time someone uploads a file the host provider has to 'repermission' it before it will work properly. And if I have to do something different in my FTP client I certainly do not know what it is. Please help me to understand this, because right now the situation sucks ... :( -- Kenneth Grome WebDNA Programmer Outsource Service Provider Phone: +6332 255-6591 ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
