texte = Hi Brian, When on Mac OS 9 I setup and used 3 G4s with a fibre channel RAID shared storage, and Quick DNS pro load balancing for a client. Although the WebDNA dbs were written out to shared storage, there were still 3 copies of a db open that didnt know what the other dbs were up to. It worked OK for sharing the load of serving WebDNA driven content sites. But I didnt load balance clients sites where there was a live stock list. >>>WARNING The client spent huge sums buying technology from a company called ATTO. It worked but the OS 9 Accelware VMS software was not 100% reliable: admittedly it was written for shared video type applications, not web servers. I strongly recommend everyone avoid ATTO technology: after a year the $20k technology was obsolete: ATTO could not have been less interested. The Mac OS switch from 9 to 10 would have involved another huge investment, and I had such a bad experience of their customer service, and rip off ethics that I could not recommend them to my client or you.
