texte = This is what I did to get my install up and running with some performancetweaks.1. Install Windows 2003 Web Edition SP1 and apply all security updates (Feb8th, 2006)2. Install the .Net Framework V.2.0 (MS Update site - select Custom)3. Check the update site again for any security updates4. I am NOT running in Server Isolation Mode. The error you are getting inyour event log (SF_NOTIFY_READ_RAW_DATA filter notification) is related toMicrosoft Article:http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/93f23233-2a47-4104-b0b4-a7ec0d3116f3.mspxIn the end, I have not notice any degrade in performance.5. Install WebCatalog, Make sure you select IIS6 or higher; Next NextFinsih.. (I am assuming you are using the default Inetpub dir etc..)6. There is a very important popup window at the end of the install whichgives the following instructions for IIS6 users:Select Web Sites Folder - Right ClickPropertiesHome Directory TabSet Execute Permissions to Scripts OnlyClick Config ButtonMappings Tab click addSet Executable path to $WebCat.dll (UsuallyC:\Inetpub\scripts\WebCatalogEngine)Set Extension to .TPLOK to exitSelect Web Services Folder - Right ClickAdd a new Web Service Extension Wizard buttonSet Extension Name to "WebCat"Click add button to add path to $WebCat.dll (UsuallyC:\Inetpub\scripts\WebCatalogEngine)Check box "Set extension status to allowed"OK to exitAt root of IIS, Where it says "Computer Name" (local computer) -Right ClickAll Tasks - Save Config to DiskAll Tasks - Restart IISWebDNA should workThe following tweaks have been compiled from the Talk List and from some IISExperts Right click My Computer PropertiesAdvancedPerformance SettingsAdvanced TabVirtual Memory SettingsChangeSet your Paging file size to 2.5 x the total system ram (2GB Ram - Make yourpaging file 5000MB or 5GB)Set the initial size the same as maximum size (This is suppose to preventdefragmentation)Uncheck System managed size and No Paging FileClick Set (A reboot maybe required)In the IIS ManagerWebsitesHome Directory TabClick Config ButtonSelect .TPL extentionUncheck Verify that file existOK to exitNow for every extension you are going to be utilizing in webcatalog (notnecessarily processing through the dll) Add a file association to the$webcat.dll.
