Frankly, I'm a bit suprised that no otherlong-timers joined in.I don't know when the conversation turned into promoting SQL, but youcan count me in. I am not against using the right tool for thejob. But I think using SQL because its accepted or using SQL for yourresume is just that.. using it for the resume. Though I have used the SQLtags in the very occassional soution, relational flat filesstill are the best working solution for 97% of my clients (I do mostlyeCommerce stuff). There is absolutely no downside to using them. Thetimes I do consider other options is when the customer wants to connectto a core inventory database or something.. or even when they arethinking about connections in the future...Flat files can migrate to most any platform.. so even if webdnadissappears, the data is just fine (well, webdna encrypted fields wouldhave to be parsed).I said that I think it's wreckless.. because end users (our clients) maywatch this list. They are getting false ideas about webdna's capabilities.Donovan-- =o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o DONOVAN D.
