texte = O.K., I have no idea what the plans are but, in hearingcomments from everyone for quite a while now, I thought I'dbroach this topic since it is the end of the week and seemsto need to be talked about. The subject line is not some last dich plea.. it's reallya fact. It would be a shame for this language (which isreally much more than a programming language) to go away.I am hoping we can get some comments / commitment from the ppl atSMSI on this. It's time. If SMSI is having trouble justifying theresources to support this app.. I would suggest thatit just wouldn't take a whole lot of resources to (atleast) bring the build to a current compatible level... compatiblewith all the latest OS's / WebServers. This commitment is imparitiveto keep any value in WebDNA.. and to keep the faith ofthe existing developers. You don't need an expensive marketingcampaign, you don't need expensive R&D for new features..but I do think SMSI needs to (at the least) invest that minimal amountof resources to get this app up to date. An updated "patch" willgo a long way to keep folks investing in the product (I won'teven bring up pricing at this point). If SMSI can't justify the resources to do those minimal fixes..there *are* other options. I think there are people on thislist who would either know someone, or be capable themselvesto help get this engine up to date. Now, I don't want this thread to become a SMSI bashingthread... which is counter productive. However, I obviously haveno control over that. But I will bet that others will agree withme that there needs to be at least that minimal investment from SMSI.SMSI, you all have invested a significant amount of energy intothe product. This is not the time to let it go. I think a sloganfrom a certain unique segment of the american scociety can beof some use here...."GET'R DONE"Sincerely,Donovan-- =o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o DONOVAN D.
