I would not switch to another scripting language.

I would rather go live in the wilderness with a survival kit than convert back to another server-side, web scripting language!

It was great, yet the Perl interoperability with miniSQL was a little confusing. 1995, programmed with MS-SQL and StormCloud. Does anyone remember StormCloud? It was a top rated server-side scripting language that went belly up. 1995 - 1998, programmed with MS-SQL and ASP. Very difficult to learn and it took weeks to develop in. 1997, Tried to learn PHP but the language development techniques were too much akin to spaghetti code and I already had the same issues with ASP. I needed an easier solution, not a sideways-step solution. 1997, Tried to learn Java. Although the language had a lot of promise at the time, it was slowing down computers and was just another sideways-step solution over ASP 1998, discovered WebDNA when a customer showed me his website. 1998, Started developing in WebDNA and created a full eCommerce website in a matter of a few weeks. Yes, it only took a few weeks to both learn the language and build my first eComm website. 1998, Bought ColdFusion 3.1, started using it, but decided that WebDNA was easier to work with. 1999, Gave up on ASP after proving that I could prototype a website and get it to completion in 1/3 the time with WebDNA. 1999 - Today, Every website I build is based on WebDNA using its built-in database feature. My personal experience with so many languages allows me to say for certain that WebDNA is truly a dynamic language that you can do anything with. Without boasting, I can tell you that we've never had to deny a customer feature request because of language limitations. Just like the concept of a RISC processor, WebDNA is a smaller but more flexible set of commands than other server-side scripting languages. I have also found that the WebDNA server engine is faster than anything Microsoft has ever produced, easier than Perl and PHP, and certainly a LOT less expensive than ColdFusion. To date I have personally overseen the production or redevelopment of more than 500 websites. In 2008 my company was maintaining more than 250 WebDNA driven sites that we built ourselves, and that number increases monthly. We focus on development for small businesses that do not have a lot of money to begin with. WebDNA keeps our development costs down and therefore we can provide very feature rich interactive websites for a fraction of the cost of other companies.
