WebDNA applications for the government

On election night in 2004 our WedDNA-based system Vote.WA.Gov handled millions of hits in a complex application.

texte = When we first looked at WebCatalog, we wrote it off because we needed a database application tool, not an ecommerce tool. A little short sighted, I admit, but an example of how in a busy work environment you can overlook the obvious. It wasn't until I had to justify the cost of the CGI after a former partner convinced me to purchase a license that I took a hard look at it, and began to craft virtually anything with the tool set. We've been using the product for 10 years this month, and have created award-winning applications, like Vote.WA.Gov and VoteWashington, and the nationally recognized teacher certification system, NASDTEC, which represents all 50 states, the provinces of Canada and several possessions, tracking teacher certification revocations, criminal actions, and the like. On election night in 2004 our WedDNA-based system Vote.WA.Gov handled millions of hits in a complex application - all within a few hours, running the entire election reporting system for the State of WA, including electronic integration with back-end election management systems. Our VoteWashington system was rewritten using WebDNA and SQL, with exceptional results. We did all this with a staff of 2. Today, that same process, which was taken in-house by Washington's Secretary of State after 2004, pays 5 full time Microsoft engineers and a staff of 4 to do the same thing, and they still don't have it right. Their budget is literally 10 times as much as when we ran the project. What a waste of time and energy, when the WebDNA version, in conjunction with Ajax and JS, is so elegant and easy to maintain, cost effective to produce and portable.
