texte = Being a full service Ad agency, one of our biggest uses of WebDNA has been to develop and deploy the CCFC Advertising/Marketing Extranet; a set of applications and tools for our own site that allow our clients to track the progress and development of their advertising online. Through the Extranet a client can access information such as insertion dates, ad placement and status. The Extranet also records revisions and client/agency notes, documenting the history of each job from concept to final printed version. Clients can instantly download logos and artwork as well as search an archive for past advertising produced by CCFC.The CCFC Advertising/Marketing Extranet is in it�s third release using WebDNA and we are continuing to add new features.Using WebDNA we have been able to quickly develop a system that dynamically creates a unique secure online experience for each individual client. Although there are software applications developed for ad agencies that claim to meet this same agenda, we opted to develop our own custom solution that would adapt to how we work internally with our clients. Various development platforms were considered including ColdFusion, ASP and PHP, however WebDNAwas chosen for its ease, flexibility and fast production time.Conveniently Reuse WebDNACodeOur biggest production challenge was to create secure templates for all our clients and agency departments to interface with data and upload files. WebDNAallowed us to dynamically reuse code, cutting development time significantly and allowing for easy updates. Updates made to a single source file of WebDNAcode are dynamically included in all templates that share that code.Uploading Files The capability to upload files for us became the single most important feature in WebDNA. We�ve developed a system that not only allows departments to upload files directly from the browser to the server, but also records the history of modifications. WebDNAallows us to rename each file with a date and time stamp as well as write this information to a database. Our clients are able to download any PDF version of a job from the initial concept to the final printed version sent to publication.Create Customized CalendarsFor our Account People it was important to have online tools that could help in the daily communication of project dates and timetables with our clients. Using WebDNAwe devel- oped a calendar system that enables our Account People to easily manage these dates, keeping the clients current through their own secure interface. The ease at which WebDNA allows for the development of relational databases has been essential in this project. Not only can an Account Person insert basic calendar information, but they can also link dates to specific job numbers and notes from various dropdown menus.
