Both webservers running WebDNA of course. After a casual conversation with one our list colleagues who used hosting, a light bulb went off in my head and as soon as I could, I arranged for all my sites to be moved to a WebDNA host. Suddenly, no more cost of servers and eventual replacements (I had upgraded all three at least once to newer Macs). No more cost of software (not just WebDNA, but all the utilities and the OS). No more agonizing over whether a storm would shut me down (we just had a 26-hour power outage last weekend. Rare, but still, these things happen). No more agonizing over server configurations and time spent trying to be a server admin. No more feelings of being tethered to my current location. No more Timbuktu during vacations to make sure everything is running right. No more wondering if my connection was robust enough. No more worries about home security (fire, theft, etc). No more worries about the dog yanking a power cord out of the wall (i.e., thunderstorms put her into a frenzy). And to top it off -- the big surprise -- the cost of hosting was CHEAPER by a factor of 2 than the T-1 line I had coming into the house. In other words, once I made the switch, I never looked back. Also, are you sure you wouldn't be violating a terms of agreement by hosting a site on your DSL line?
