I must have missed this setting in b7. Which one is it? In testing over the weekend linking to a bunch of very large text files where the page has an [included] header and a footer and then [include /somefolder/sometext.txt] in the middle of the page, where some.txt file could be 64 to 128K or larger, it is slow on delivery. Typing in http://www.myserver/somefolder/sometext.txt in netscape via dial up is lots faster. I did not record the readings, but best guess was low 2.0K for via [include] and over 3.0K per sec on direct link to file name. And if I replicated the file out with firesite it screemed over dial up pushing 4.0K per sec. Replicated server is a G3 with ultra-wide scsi on T-1 running webten. My only wish is that I could somehow get firesite to see that the file ending with the .txt extension inside the [include] tags would come from the replicated server.Sorry Grant, Jay and John but we need a new tag that can hook large [included] text files to come from a rep server. version b9 would be way cool (weg)=============================================== Gary Richter PanaVise Products, Inc. 7540 Colbert Dr. Reno, Nevada 89511 Ph: 702.850.2900 Fx: 702.850.2929 Email: grichter@panavise.com http://www.panavise.com =============================================== Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
