I am enclosing a sample.txt file that is a copy of the file Eudora produces containing one message. Take a look.Other problems:1. I created an alias of Eudora's /system folder/Eudora Folder/Mail Folder/Out that I put into a folder for appending;2. When I tried to [appendfile] to it I found I could not. As a matter of fact when I tried to [appendfile] to any alias I could not. Not just a file created by Eudora, but any alias. Is that right? I thought this was possible.I had problems the other way around also. I took the original file from Eudora and put it into my mail out folder I would append into. I created an alias named Out and put it back into Eudora's folder. In this case I was able to append to Eudora's original (although it changed the file creator when I did). However, Eudora was not able to see the Out alias I created and so it created another Out file of its own when the program restarted.I also have gotten a message when I replaced Eudoras Out file with another text file, a text file that was properly formated for messages, but was not a Eudora created text file. When the program restarts it sees the file and says there is a problem with the table of contents and asks if I want to rebuild it. In which case it does and all the messages that were in the txt file are now able to be seen. The file is recreated into a Eudora txt file.Where Am I:1. The resource fork contains table of contents and other information that Eudora needs, as Ken suspected??? It probably contains the Table of Contents and probably information about Queued files or other status markers.2. I also have doubts that a file appended to can be seen in its updated form by Eudora until the program restarts, thereby building a Table of Contents. That doesn't do much good if you have to restart the program...3. There are also a couple of other folders.../system folder/Eudora Folder/Spool Folder/ /system folder/Eudora Folder/Cache Folder/I don't know why a file dropped in either of these might work any better.I sent off an email to Eudora's tech support.
