Burton's site is a good place to start, though. Most people recommend dissecting the Tea Room example that comes with the WebCat installation, and I'd agree with that, in part. However, I think the Tea Room example uses the alternate XML-style WebDNA syntax that seemingly no one (at least no one on this list) has adopted. This list and its many helpful subscribers is also mandatory reading. At first you won't have any idea what people are talking about, but you'll start to catch on. The list archives are also quite useful.I replaced someone who had done a lot of coding in WebCat, so I had his past work to use to figure out how to do (and, the better I get at programming WebDNA, how *NOT* to do) things. It gets discussed every now and then how it's a shame that WebCatalog isn't priced better and promoted aggressively so that its user base will expand, and that's true, because once you finally learn it, you realize that it's a good product that would be easy to learn with the right instruction. In many ways learning WebDNA is like learning a foreign language simply by referring to an English/ dictionary while conversing with others in that language. It's frustrating, but once you get the hang of its quirks, you can do a lot of really amazing things with it. -- Steven Jarvis Web Developer sjarvis@nwaonline.net NWAonline.net ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
