What> WebCatalog books could you recommend me to obtain? There are no books. None. Nada. Zip.> where on the Net can I find WebCat-related tutorials?http://www.burtons.com/WebDNA/That's the only one that I know of, though some people have some verytask-specific info on their sites. Burton's site is a good place to start, though. Most people recommend dissecting the Tea Room example that comes with theWebCat installation, and I'd agree with that, in part. However, I think theTea Room example uses the alternate XML-style WebDNA syntax that seeminglyno one (at least no one on this list) has adopted. This list and its many helpful subscribers is also mandatory reading. Atfirst you won't have any idea what people are talking about, but you'llstart to catch on. The list archives are also quite useful.I replaced someone who had done a lot of coding in WebCat, so I had his pastwork to use to figure out how to do (and, the better I get at programmingWebDNA, how *NOT* to do) things. It gets discussed every now and then how it's a shame that WebCatalog isn'tpriced better and promoted aggressively so that its user base will expand, and that's true, because once you finally learn it, you realize that it's agood product that would be easy to learn with the right instruction. In many ways learning WebDNA is like learning a foreign language simply byreferring to an English/
dictionary while conversing withothers in that language. It's frustrating, but once you get the hang of itsquirks, you can do a lot of really amazing things with it.--Steven Jarvis Web Developer sjarvis@nwaonline.netNWAonline.net-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .To unsubscribe, E-mail to: To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to Web Archive of this list is at: http://search.smithmicro.com/
