texte = Hi Guys, My server administrator and I have tried to find the relevant information in the talk list archives, but there's about a million messages in there related to permissions issues, and some recommendations clearly conflict with others -- so we still don't know how to fix the permissions problems I reported here a month or two ago. I need to have this fixed once and for all, so the admin guy never has to go in and "repermission" my files and folders again after webdna does something with them and screws up their permissions again. I'm looking for a solution that will force webdna to set the proper permissions every time -- not just so webdna itself can use the files, but also so I can also use FTP to successfully upload, move, rename and delete these files and folders which webdna has messed up. As it is now, every time webdna writes a file, creates a folder, or moves a file, I can no longer do things with that file via FTP -- such as upload a replacement file over the existing file ... or move a file or folder to a different location. Based on my current tests, it seems that these problems occur consistently after webdna has created or moved or renamed a file. Apparently these actions trigger the server to reset the permissions improperly, then I cannot "do what I need to do" via FTP any more! MY admin guy doesn't know how to fix it, he's trying but so far everything he has tried has failed. I'm sure there's a post in the archives that gives the correct instructions for making the server set the proper permissions in this situation, but I would be far more confident if an expert were to re-post the instructions here. The server is linux running Apache and webdna 4.x. If you need more info than this to provide specific instructions I'll have to ask my administrator. Thanks in advance for any definitive answers you can provide ... :) -- Kenneth Grome WebDNA Programmer Outsource Service Provider Phone: +6332 255-6591 ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
