texte = None of these prefs exist in 4.0 x which is what this guy has had my sites running on since he made me move from osx to linux several months ago. The fact that my sites have been running on an even OLDER version of webdna than what he promised me (and what I had on osx) really pisses me off, but that's my own issue to deal with between me and him. Nevertheless, it seems that he now thinks this is the reason for my permissions problems. But instead of fixing the problem on the existing server by upgrading to 4.5.1 (a free upgrade at that creates no issues whatsoever from what I recall) he is now suggesting that I move my sites to yet another server, one that's running v4.5.1 on linux. This "new" linux server actually has the prefs you asked about -- the UnixUser is set to "apache" and both InsecureFileMode and SecureFileMode set to "775" -- but I don't know what the httpd.conf is set to because it's been something like 14 hours since I got my last email from the admin guy and I haven't heard from him since (maybe he went home or something). So let me ask you this ... do you know if running on linux with webdna 4.0.x (which does not have the three preferences you mentioned) would make it impossible for the server administrator to fix the permissions problems I've been having? Jesse Proudman apparently thinks so because his server is colocated with the same guy, and they have been talking about this and trying to "figure out" why I've been having all these unresolved permissions problems. Apparently their conclusion is that these problems will *always* exist when running anything less than v4.5.1 on linux ... something any decent webdna server host should know if it is in fact true. >Kenneth Grome wrote: >>drwxrwsr-x 3 kengrome apache 4096 Mar 23 21:19 originalfolder >>-rwxrwxr-x 1 kengrome apache 3380 Mar 23 21:19 originalfile >>-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 56 Mar 23 21:19 some.db.OLD >>-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 14 Mar 23 21:19 some.hdr.OLD >>-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 56 Mar 23 21:19 some.db >>-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 14 Mar 23 21:19 some.hdr >>-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 3380 Mar 23 21:19 copiedfile >>-rw-rw---- 1 apache apache 9 Mar 23 21:19 newfilebywebdna >>drwxr-sr-x 2 apache apache 4096 Mar 23 21:19 newfolderbywebdna >> > >What is the UnixUser setting in 'WebCatalog Prefs' set to?
