I should have qualified my previous statement by saying extremely cpu-intensive apps... Both CGPro and apache could be made to tax a cpu, but not without a significant amount of effort to generate that load.I'm thinking more like an extremely complex perl script that reads in a big chunk of data into ram and then does a bunch of manipulations on that data, executed several times in parallel. All the perl scripts I have do a little calculation on a bunch of text files, so they don't really qualify as cpu intensive for this test.Any other ideas? As for Dale's question about linux hardware, I'm not sure what would be the best performer. So far I have tested on a dual 533 P3 and a dual 933 P3. Strangely enough, the dual 933 was NOT noticeably faster when executing single templates. I'm doing more testing on both machines this week. I will release my testing tools so that (hopefully) someone with a P4 can run some tests too.-Dale -- Dale LaFountain Vice President of Information Technology, WebMaster Dark Horse Comics, Inc. mailto:dalel@darkhorse.com Phone: 503-652-8815 x324 http://www.darkhorse.com/------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
