The fact that WebDNA has support for MySQL, even if we aren't = using it, is an important reassurance for clients, because they know = there is a potential migration path should a move away from WebDNA be = needed in the future. The fix for Append will help - I've been = working around the current issue by closing the database and using = appendfile to write out batches of new records. I've also been thinking that it would be great if WebDNA supported = segmented databases. For example, a 40 MB database could be segmented = into 10 4MB files, and WebDNA would then only need to write out one of = the segments when a record is updated. WebDNA would need some smarts to = keep track of which records are in each segment, but committing large = databases to disk would be much faster.
