Someone accesses the web page, and then the computer that it is on sends the html file to them....that person's browser knows what to do with it, right?Well, with WebCatalog.... Someone accesses the web page, and then the computer that it is on....takes all of the WebDNA, and turns it into HTML before it sends the file to them....that way the person's browser knows what to do with it. If the person received WebCatalog....their browswer wouldn't understand it....this makes WebCatalog a server-side application....got it?What this means is, that in order for you to use WebCatalog, you need to have it installed on the same computer that is hosting your web site...so that it will understand the WebDNA and be able to send it out as HTML.Since you are running your own server...you'll need to find out what the system requirements are for WebCatalog...you need to find out what operating system you need, and what web server software you need, because it will only work with certain combonations of the two.Also...keep in mind....if you are use to using FrontPage to design your web pages, there is no complete user interface for WebCatalog like that...if you want to use it to it's full potential, you will have to write all of the code yourself. There are some applications out there that have been created to help you build WebCatalog sites, but they are mostly predesigned templates, and you pretty much get locked into it....meaning, if it doesn't do what you want it to, there's nothing you can do about it...Do you know and understand HTML, or do you rely completely on FrontPage to build the site for you?At 07:17 AM 11/18/99 -0800, you wrote: >I hope I understand your question right.
