That's where WhosComing started, and by offering something I originally wrote for my own use to paying customers, it keeps it fresh, and I make a few bucks on it in the process. It was some work initially to convert to a system where the user filled out their own prefs (and also to make it more user friendly), but now it's fairly straightforward to add features because of this method. Anyway, I think your system is a great idea (hope my original posting didn't sound too critical - that wasn't the intent), and if you pretty it up a little, you could throw it out there and see what happens. One code base, one server, many subscribers -- think about it, it's a good model.
