Funny note though, in 1997 I made a proposal to a customer to redesign their website. I started programming in 1994 and was keeping up with technologies at the time. The customer showed me his website, which was built in .tpl.... Until that moment I had never seen a .tpl page before. I'm not sure if WebDNA was the first to use .tpl, but it certainly was my first exposure to it... 6 months later I purchased my first WebCatalog v3 license. My feeling has always been that other people copied off the WebCatalog itea of template and .tpl files.
