You could go to the library, you could make hundreds of phone calls to dealers, you could contact individual manufacturers, etc. In the same way, if you are willing to go through this process of gathering data from the WWW, I don't think there would be an issue. Obviously your best bet would be to speak to your lawyer concerning the information.Besides, if Ken can run a sweatshop in the Philippines, surely you could save yourself some time by using your own set of skills. Just my two cents. =)-----Original Message----- From: WebCatalog Talk [mailto:WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.com]On Behalf Of Inkblot Media Sent: Thursday, October 17, 2002 5:09 PM To: WebCatalog Talk Subject: Re: Car DatabaseThis is like amazon copyrighting their one-click. It is ridiculous. This information is available on dozens if not hundreds of other sites.I just mention KBB as they are a leader in this field.I am not trying to emulate KBB, thus I am not stepping on any copyrighted material. I am wanting to gather the standard data that goes with cars, based on makes/models/etc.It would take far to long to go to every dealer to gather this info.I am awaiting a response to KBB, I am sure it will come with a price tag.
