While I wholeheartedly agree that at the current time, a 'WebDNA for Dummies' book might not find a large enough audience to feed the author(s), my thoughts were more along the lines of a 'build it and they will come' approach, hopefully with the blessing/funding of SM and/or the '...for Dummies' folks (IDG Books Worldwide?).A bona-fide 'how-to' book on WebDNA (particularly one that could share in the popularity and distribution channels of an existing brand (i.e. '...for Dummies')) would absolutely drive consumer interest in the product by the simple fact that it exists. If I wasn't familiar with WebDNA and I was wandering through the Dummies section in Borders Books (like I do from time to time -- I own Javascript and DOS for Dummies and I use them both all the time.. and I can remember picking up VRML for Dummies back in 1998...) and I saw WebDNA for Dummies -- A Reference for the Rest of Us! -- The Fun and Easy Way to Create Attractive, Effective Web Applications ... or whatever... I would DEFINITELY pick it up, and most likely buy it, if I was interested in webdev (which I am). Maybe even include a CD with the Developer Edition installers for each platform as well as the Onbline Command Reference (betadoc), and links to SM's website, etc. etc.But of course, maybe SM isn't interested in making more $$ ;) Why don't I write it? Maybe I will, maybe I will..... but I definitely couldn't do it alone, as I feel my current WebDNA skill level is 'Advanced Intermediate' (some might beg to differ...). I would need a WebDNA knowledgeable editor...Anyway, this is my $0.02.... enough daydreaming for me... I took a look at the Forbes List of the Richest People in America this morning and noticed that my name wasn't on it -- I'd better get back to work. ;)-Dan ------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.StrongGraphicDesign.com (208) 319-0137 | Toll-free p/f 877-561-1656 ------------------------------------------------------------On Thu, 6 Feb 2003 15:59:10 Brian B.
