It appears that so far, WebDNA has some unique features perhaps because it was someones (or a group of someone's) brainchild. WebDNA, though fairly diverse these days, was made with needs in mind (it appears to me). I wonder what kind of issues may come up, or what kind of shape it would take, if it were to be open sourced. I think WebDNA is a different animal to the different developers. I use it mostly for commerce sites (... However, I have built an accounting helper and forum out of it). Other folks have other main uses for it. I think we can say that it started out as an eCommerce tool. Anyway, my point is commitees can be difficult, and, I think, for the "developers" to buy it, there would have to be some kind of orginized proposal that someone would have to work hard to produce. I think it would be easier, and perhaps better for the community if an existing company would acquire it.. a company who had some passion for it and could listen to the developers to keep it updated and competitive. However, if SMSI wanted to sell it, and if a group of people approached me with a good plan/arrangement that contained legal blessings.. and wanted 10 grand of my money. I'd sure take a look at it. (may have to sell some things.. but.. :-) Donovan -- =o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o DONOVAN D.
