Current price is $14.74/share.I'm not really sure that the market for WebDNA is large enough to support investment by anyone who wasn't prepared to do battle with the marketing and development budgets of Microsoft and Adobe/Macromedia. Let's be realistic: php is free, so there's no sense even trying to compete with that, and anyone who is willing to pay for a server-side scripting language is going to go for the 'shiniest' one with the best marketing and support, so unless WebDNA can be upgraded to keep up with the times and then also made super-shiny to grab those who would otherwise buy CF or ASP/dotNet, etc. then, to me, there really is no future in the product for anybody but those of us who still use it.That said, it seems to me that open-sourcing would be the only viable option for those of us who don't want to let go. Would SM do it? I don't know. Probably not. What's in it for them? Maybe we could start a non-profit co. and then SM could 'donate' WebDNA to us so that way at least they could get a tax write-off on it.Just thinking out loud...-Dan-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .To unsubscribe, E-mail to: To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to Web Archive of this list is at: http://webdna.smithmicro.com/
