texte = I am new to this list as well as to WebCatalog. It's easy to bash SM and say that they are trying to compete with us but I don't think it is in their best interest. What they are doing is creating a demand for their product and our services. No one company can be the single source for everyone who wants to work with WebCatalog. There will always be people who don't want to work with SM for a variety of reasons whether it is because they want to work with someone in their geographic area or they prefer a smaller company where they can get more personalized attention. There are also going to be those accounts that are not financially attractive to SM but will be to smaller firms such as ourselves. Look at how Microsoft has created a market for their software and given MCSEs the ability to charge a premium for their services. Don't you think that if WebCatalog becomes a household name those of you who are experienced in WebDNA and have build sites using WebCatalog will be in demand and will be able to charge more for you services?Lastly I think that the people who work with the product everyday and have a practical knowledge of how it works can provide the best solutions to problems that arise. This talk list should be used to share knowledge among professional developers so that we can further our knowledge and learn from each others experience. I am new to this list as well as to WebCatalog. It's easy to bash SM and say that they are trying to compete with us but I don't think it is in their best interest.
