Agreed ... but it would take years and LOTS of money to get=20 it done and done right, and I'm not even thinking about=20 such all-encompassing long-term projects at this time. =20 Right now I'm just trying to suggest options that might be=20 possible with limited funds during the next 3-6 months or=20 so. > I would say this kind of application are very attractive > to newcomers. But should we make WSC allocate time on > such programming or should an experienced WebDNA coder or > group of coders start working on it?=20 At the moment I don't think either of these options are=20 desirable, and here's why I say this ... =46rom your standpoint as the owners of WSC I think you need=20 to get a bug-fixed version out the door before anything=20 else -- and if you're seriously focused on this task you=20 really won't (or shouldn't) have time to develop these=20 scripts yourself due to your intense programming efforts on=20 the software itself ... :) As far as having someone else do these things (presumably=20 for shares of stock in the company?) I think you're running=20 out of stock way too fast as it is. Venture capital funds=20 like to see lots of undistributed stock in the companies=20 they fund. They also prefer unincorporated entities=20 because apparently many startups don't "do it right" so the=20 venture funds have to go through a major hassle just to=20 have those companies re-structured before anything else. So ... if it were my company I would work non-stop on the=20 software itself, and I would "take a giant step backwards"=20 when it comes to everything else -- in order to consider=20 all this new information carefully for a while. Then later=20 after 6.1 has been released, a decision about how to make=20 the next move might be clearer. =2D---------- One of my long term WebDNA clients has a personal friend in=20 the venture capital industry, and his firm specializes in=20 funding new IT startups as well as other tech companies in=20 the early stages of growth. I've learned a few things from=20 him over the past year or so in terms of the best way to=20 approach and obtain substantial amounts of venture capital=20 funding. =20 I'm not suggesting that I know much about this, but from=20 what I've gathered so far I think WSC could possibly secure=20 substantial funding for WebDNA. =20 However, this software has been out there for years and many=20 of us have been there all along, so there's no way we can=20 approach such funding people acting like we don't know=20 which way to take this software into the future. Instead=20 we are going to need a solid plan and some seriously=20 research with strong evidence to back up our arguments --=20 because these guys will see right through anything we might=20 possibly overlook. I am still so committed to this software that I would love=20 to be in a position to present a seriously professional=20 business plan to some of these venture funding folks. But=20 first I would need to be very confident that WSC has=20 planned out a great path for success, because the last=20 thing I need is to go in there and make a total fool of=20 myself by proposing something they will shoot down the=20 moment I get there.
